Original description
Coprinus fallax
Statura C. subpurpureo et C. plagioporo similis. Sporae congestae atrorubescentes, magn. 11-14 x 6-7.5 µm; basidia dimorpha, magn. 20-24 x 7-8 µm; pilocystidia magn. 20-30 x 100-120 µm. Fibulae praesentes. Ad terram caespitosus.
