On the type of Coprinus saichiae

Original description
Coprinus saichiae Reid in Trans. Br. mycol. Soc. 41: 430. 1958 (New and interesting records of British hymenomycetes II). Holotype: England: Hertfordshire, Kings Langley, on dead grass in a lawn, 23 Sept. 1955, R.A. Saich (holotype, K).
Pileus 0.3 cm. altus, 0.2 cm. latus, campanulatus, demum expansus, membranaceus.floccosus, albus, disco saepe cremeo tincto. Lamellae nigricantes, subliberae. Stipes primo usque ad 0.6 cm. altus, 0.1 cm. latus demum 2.2 cm. altus, albus. Sporae griseo-brunneae, pellucidae, 6-8 x 5-7.5 x 4.5-5 µm. Basidia quadrispora clavata, pedicellata, 20.8-28.6 x 9-11 µm. Cystidia non visa. Velum hyphis hyalinis, luteo-brunneis, coralloideis, 2-2.5 (-6) µm, muris crassis, compositum. REID D.A., 1958. Observations:
Spores [20,1,1] 5.7--7.0 x 4.7--6.1 x 4.2--4.8 µm, pale red-brown, shortly ovoid, rather lentiform; Q= 1.15--1.30, av. Q= 1.20; av. L= 6.3, av. B= 5.3 µm. Germ pore central, c. 1.3 µm in diameter. Basidia 17--28 x 8--10 µm, 4-spored, surrounded by (4--)5--7 paraphyses. Pleurocystidia 50--90 x 7--15 µm. Veil thick-walled, 2--6 µm wide, walls up to 1.5(--2) µm and pale yellow-brown. Clamp-connections not seen.
Notes: the sizes given in the original description are only slightly larger than the observations on the type specimen.
